Minoringo (みのりんご)

Minoringo is a highly rated curry house in Harajuku, Japan. It is located at 1-22-7, Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Japan(map) The places closes in the afternoon once they sell out at around 3-4pm and re-opens at night, so if you do come here for lunch, don't come too late.

Google street view(white square is where the shop is)

Long queue even at around 2pm. We were 1 of the few last customers as a few people after us were denied entry as they have ran out of curry.

Interior shot and the chef. The place is small, and it is all counter seats.

The menu.

The Minoringo special, which has the Keema Curry with egg and Chicken Curry.

First thing to note, do not come here expecting Japanese curry. Now on to the food...
I found the keema curry to be really dry, breaking the egg and mixing it makes its slightly better but still very dry. The texture of the Keema is like beef bolognaise but with curry(keema is like an indian curry dish, so keep that in mind). The chicken curry is just okay, nothing to rave about.
Although the food was decent, we left feeling slightly disappointed, considering the hype and the amount of time we had to queue for it(we queued for about an hour).

So if you are in Harajuku, you can come and give this place a try, but do not expect greatness. It made us really full though... since the portion is actually pretty big.

Ratings:

Price: 900-2000 yen.

Will I come again? Only if there is no queue.
